Is it Time for a Home Extension?

Let’s face it we’ve all spent a lot more time at home in recent times than ever before.  And if there’s one thing it has highlighted it is the need for more space.  Not everyone is in the position to move to a new house or even wants to.  But it is time for a home extension?

For many homes, the answer can definitely be yes.  Even with a small garden, there are things you can do under Permitted Development to make your home a bit bigger.  And if you have a bit of space to the rear of the house, there’s a ton of options available.

Conservatories remain one of the most popular types of extension and they are much more practical than in past times due to the quality of double glazing available.  You can also get crossover styles such as garden rooms and orangeries that mix some features of a conservatory with a brick-built extension.

Making new rooms with brick walls and a solid roof is another popular option.  This is particularly true if you want something like another bedroom, a downstairs bathroom or even a home office.  A conservatory doesn’t really work for the first two of these types of rooms!
